Description

The SPE Members in Transition Seminar Series is designed to include a selection of topics of interest to SPE members who are transitioning in between jobs during the current industry downturn or who are looking for new career opportunities.  The agenda for the twenty-third seminar in the series will include “Ethics of Brinkmanship,” “How do we promote investors in the innovation lifecycle?”, and “Conducting an Effective Job Search” and a “Discussion of Resources for SPE Members”.

Event #1 Description/Presentation Abstract:  Ethics of Brinkmanship


Ethical people are the most common doers of unethical deeds, and they often do it because they don't realize they have gone over the edge.


Mr. Purvis will examine how people get into situations that place them at professional, moral and legal risk, then how to recognize, evaluate and resolve them.  Using a combination of videos, examples, and condescending pontification, Mr. Purvis help to raise your sensitivity to and skill to resolve ethical challenges.  This talk is designed to meet ethics requirement for continuing education for licensure.

We will assess the velocity and diversity of innovation across key technology domains, and highlight the inventors behind them.
