General Meeting

The General Meeting Study Group is dedicated to [1] providing a forum for presentations and discussion of energy related issues and [2] promoting actions to improve knowledge of energy related issues through education and personal interaction.

The General Meeting Study Group sponsors 9 monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month starting in September and ending in May. These meetings are held at the Petroleum Club on the 35th floor of the TOTAL Plaza building in downtown Houston at 1201 Louisiana Street.   Meetings include a luncheon followed by short announcements and then the presentation by the speaker.

These meetings are highlighted by invited speakers who make presentations on a variety of pertinent and relevant topics affecting the petroleum industry today. Topics include a wide variety of subjects such as oil & gas pricing, economic forecasts, company profiles, new technology trends, government regulatory trends and analyses, reserve booking issues, natural gas outlook, unconventional oil & gas plays, enhanced oil recovery topics, deep water drilling technology trends, etc.
