Give Back To Community

The TAMU Career Closet is a student organization at Texas A&M University in collaboration with the Career Center and the Student Government Association, whose mission is to enhance the professionalism of Texas A&M students while alleviating the financial burden that is inherently associated with launching a career. Through this organization, all students at Texas A&M University have the opportunity to use a quality suit for only a $5 dry-cleaning fee. Students can come into the TAMU Career Closet, find a great fit with the assistance of our student volunteers, and walk out the door with a suit. Students not only leave with a suit, but also the confidence to secure the career of their dreams.

In addition to providing suit rentals, we hold clothing giveaways, in which students are allowed to browse through donated professional clothing and select pieces at no cost. Students are allowed to keep these donated clothing items to fulfill their clothing needs for career fairs, networking events, job interviews, and the start of their careers.

These giveaways would not be possible without the generous clothing donations from our community members and charitable professionals. On behalf on the TAMU Career Closet, I am writing to your organization about potentially holding a professional clothing donation drive, or broadcasting the attached fliers to individual members interested in donating. Our organization is seeking gently used business casual and business professional clothing – including suits, dress shirts, blouses, dresses, and accessories. If members are interested in donating, pick-ups can be coordinated for the remainder of July and August, and potentially through the rest of the year.

The TAMU Career Closet thanks you in advance for helping nurture the professionalism of Texas A&M students! Donations will be accepted until March 2018.
