Description

By relentlessly focusing on the field, opportunistically utilizing already available data sources, technology and delivery methods, tactically implementing small technology improvements, and focusing on the processes in place to utilize this data, EP Energy has developed an IT organization that has partnered with our field organization and is delivering documented production increases with very minimal investment. This presentation will expand on the methodology IT used to approach the field, best practices for field engagement, how to utilize existing data to drive change, the need for business processes and champions to utilize the data, why previous technology focused field projects have failed, the documented revenue positive results of this methodology, as well as the foundation for future technology focused efforts. It is a compelling story of how a strict focus on technology driven data management efforts and the “digital” in digital oilfield can obscure the value sitting out in the field if IT isn’t willing to get their hands dirty with hands-on, field focused partnerships.
