Joseph Magner joined Tristone Capital's Denver office in January 2007 and is responsible for providing institutional equity research coverage of the Large and Mid-Cap U.S. independent E&P companies.  Prior to joining Tristone, he spent five years with Petrie Parkman & Co. providing research coverage of the Mid-Cap U.S. E&P sector and maintaining the firm's natural gas macro perspective.  Previous to his experience at Petrie Parkman, Mr. Magner worked seven years in equity research with various other firms on both the sell-side and the buy-side.  Mr. Magner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Denver.  Mr. Magner is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

 

 

Paul B. Beck is an Executive Director at Macquarie Bank and was a founding member of Macquarie’s Houston office in 2002. Prior to Macquarie, Paul was a Managing Director of Cambrian Capital Corporation (1996-01) and Jefferies & Company (1994-96). He was involved in originating and structuring energy finance transactions at MG Trade Finance Corp. (1992-94) and was a petroleum banker with First City Bancorporation (1989-92). Paul also worked for Cabot Oil and Gas (1984-87) in various Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain production and reservoir engineering capacities. At Cabot, he had additional responsibilities, which included SEC reserve engineering reporting. Paul holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston
 

 

Shaun Finnie joined Scotia Waterous in November 2005, having transferred from Scotia Capital’s Mergers & Acquisitions group, which he joined in 2003. Mr. Finnie is a Managing Director in the Houston office where he is responsible for business development and project execution.

Prior to joining Scotia Capital, Mr. Finnie was a Vice President in the Energy and Power group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York. In that capacity, he was responsible for coverage of U.S. and Canadian accounts in the oil & gas and power sectors. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Finnie spent four years with two other major Canadian investment banks where he focused on merger and acquisition assignments. Mr. Finnie began his career practicing oil and gas law at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer in Calgary.

Mr. Finnie received a BA in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986, an LLB from The University of Western Ontario in 1989, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1995.
