Description

Each surfactant Improved Oil Recovery (IOR/EOR) project has an independent, unique and varying set of conditions. This makes it extremely important to design and formulate the surfactant to meet specific needs for each particular field and its conditions. The processes to be discussed are among the most important in IOR/EOR and may significantly increase the oil production when primary and secondary methods of recovery have been exhausted or become inefficient and uneconomical.

Dr. Berger’s talk will follow the outline below:

  • Chemical EOR - the past, the present and the future
  • Surfactants for Permian Basin carbonate formations
  • Field IOR projects overview
