Subject:           Smart Devices – Value to the Oilfield

More and more, the intelligence and logic necessary to manage and optimize wells and field equipment is being pushed ever closer to the reservoir and wellhead. The sensors and controllers today have become much more powerful and capable due to the evolution of the microprocessor and other electronic technologies.  Because of this, the devices used in the production of oil and gas have become much “smarter”.  The devices themselves have the ability to act autonomously, or within a system, managing themselves and updating information as required to a system.

Our upcoming Digital Technology Showcase (sponsored by the SPE Gulf Coast Section) is geared toward providing real solutions that expose the value of using smart devices as autonomous units or within field-wide systems.  We are seeking partners for this technology showcase to present and demonstrate how your company and products can assist oil and gas producers to improve production operations, better manage reservoir performance, and simplify an automation system.

This will be an elite and intimate opportunity for chosen vendors to arm decision-makers with valuable informationVendors will be chosen based on compatibility with the showcase theme, by a panel comprised of non-biased members.  We strongly encourage you to submit your corporate and product overviews for consideration immediately.  The deadline for registration is September 29, 2006.  Notification to the eight selected vendors will be, no later than, October 10, 2006, at which time a $500 registration fee will apply.  Please be able to provide a description of your product and its capabilities, case-study examples of real problems and solutions, and an overview of how your product performs as a “smart device”.
