If you attended the SPE Digital Energy Conference in February, you will know that Hurricane Preparedness was the buzz topic at the event. In fact, it was so popular that a dedicated workshop was requested by those attendees of a breakout session during the conference. In response, SPE will host a three- part study group series to gather, discuss and validate best practices on hurricane preparedness to present during the next Digital Energy Conference in 2007. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, where technologies will be evaluated and processes and people will be discussed at the CyrusOne Offices.
Who Should Attend?
Those who were involved with preparing a company for Hurricane's Katrina and Rita who can share tangible results and challenges with the group in order to develop best practices.
Expectations:
Attendees of this study group are to bring ideas, thoughts and topics to initialize conversations around hurricane preparedness. During this time the group will discuss those tactics that were successful in surviving a hurricane, as well as those that were not. Information including the amount of dollars lost during downtime; technology failures, success with testing business continuity plans, etc. will be explored to determine solutions moving forward.
This event is free to all attendees. SPE membership not required.
