Description

A brief overview of the Independence Hub project will be presented. Independence Hub is owned by Independence Hub, L.L.C., which is owned 80% by Enterprise Products Partners L.P. and 20% by Cal Dive International. The semi-submersible platform will be located in a record water depth of 8,000 feet in Mississippi Canyon Block 920. The platform has a design production capacity of 850 MMSCF per day and will process production from ten gas fields: Atlas and Atlas NW (Lloyd Ridge blocks 5/49/50), Cheyenne (Lloyd Ridge block 399), Jubilee (Atwater Valley blocks 305/349 and Lloyd Ridge blocks265/309), Merganser (Atwater Valley blocks 36/37), Mondo NW (Lloyd Ridge block 2), Q (Mississippi Canyon block 961), San Jacinto (Desoto Canyon blocks 618/619), Spiderman (DeSoto Canyon blocks 620/621) and Vortex (Atwater Valley blocks 217/261 and Lloyd Ridge blocks 177/221), in addition to future discoveries on surrounding undeveloped blocks. The anchor producers to the Hub are Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Kerr-McGee Oil and Gas Corp., Devon Louisiana Corp., Spinnaker Exploration Co., Dominion Exploration & Production, Inc., and Energy Resources Technology.

Cory Weinbel currently manages Cal Dive’s Production Facilities Division, which is focused on offering innovative offshore infrastructure solutions to oil & gas production companies. This Division currently incorporates the Marco Polo TLP and Independence Hub semi-submersible floating platform developments, of which Cal Dive is a partial infrastructure owner. Cory has been employed with Cal Dive for over five years and was previously Cal Dive’s project manager for the deepwater Gunnison Spar development and participated with Kerr-McGee on the Gunnison Integrated Project Team. Prior to joining Cal Dive, Cory worked for 16 years in various positions from Project Engineer to Deepwater Project Manager for Kerr-McGee Corporation and Kvaerner Oil & Gas. Cory has a BS degree in Materials Science and MS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Columbia University.
