Abstract
SpaceX was able to reinvent the space industry because they figured out a way to reuse the rockets. The Oil and Gas industry spends billions to develop subsurface assets which then are plugged and abandoned at the end of their perceived lifetime. Is it possible to reinvent the pore space for alternative use cases?
In this presentation, Moji will share the history and speculate on how biotechnology can impact upstream Oil and Gas and provides a tangible case study for subsurface biomanufacturing of natural hydrogen, coined as the Gold Hydrogen. This includes a technical overview of the technology, reservoir screening considerations, early learnings from the Permian Basin, and the plan ahead for commercial roll out of Gold Hydrogen.
