Please join us to commemorate the history, meaning and significance of Juneteenth with Chevron's Diversity and Inclusion Officer Josetta Jones and Marvin Jones, Baker Hughes' Black Employee Network member and sponsor. This panel discussion will be moderated by Chiedozie Ekweribe, former SPE GCS D&I Programs Chair and will cover the relevance of celebrating freedom, unity and progress on this national holiday not only in African American communities but across the country challenging us all to embrace our history and continue to foster a more inclusive workplace and industry.

Josetta Jones is Chevron’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. She leads the Diversity, Inclusion, and Ombuds function and oversees strategic D&I partnerships with professional and business associations. Prior to this role, Josetta was Managing Counsel responsible for the Intellectual Property Law Group who procure and protect Chevron’s intellectual property. Josetta received a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University; a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law; and a Master of Laws in Patent and Intellectual Property Law from George Washington University. Josetta received the Professional Businesswomen of California’s 2023 Industry Leader Award.  Josetta likes book clubbing, traveling, listening to old school rap and hip-hop, and spending time with family and friends.

Marvin Jones joined Baker Hughes on October 28, 2019 as Vice President of SAP, Marvin is responsible for Baker Hughes’ existing SAP ERP landscape and the ultimate transformation to S4.

Marvin Jones joined Baker Hughes on October 28, 2019 as Vice President of SAP, Marvin is responsible for Baker Hughes’ existing SAP ERP landscape and the ultimate transformation to S4.


Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Marvin served as SAP Release Manager for Schlumberger and Director - SAP IT for Cameron International. In each of these roles, he was responsible for providing IT strategy, business alignment, execution and leadership of multi-functional global teams. Earlier in his career, Marvin worked over 20 years in various IT leadership roles for Advanced Energy Industries and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems focused on designing, deploying and supporting SAP.


Marvin has now taken on an expanded role within OFSE as DT Director, Enterprise Applications. He now leads the following OFSE enterprise applications, SAP, Jobcenter, AMO amongst others.


 


Marvin and his wife Karla have lived in Cypress, Texas, USA for the past 14 years. They enjoy family vacations, and almost every sport imaginable especially football. They have two children, a son Jordan and daughter Camryn.

Chiedozie Ekweribe (“Dozie”) is the Permian Basin Reservoir Engineering Supervisor for Chevron with over 15 years of industry experience in conventional shelf, offshore deepwater, and unconventional shale & tight assets. He has devoted many years of service volunteering and leading Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) initiatives and has won numerous awards including Houston E-week SPE YP Engineer of the Year and the SPE International Giovanni Paccaloni Young Member Outstanding Service (YMOS) awards. He served as Chair of SPE Gulf Coast Section (GCS) Young Professionals, SPE International YMOS awards committee chair and recently the SPE GCS Diversity & Inclusion Program chair. Dozie holds MSc. in Chemical Engineering from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas and an MSc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
