Energy Industry Panel Discussion - EmPOWERing the Gulf of Mexico

SPE Members in Transition Hiring Event Panel Discussion will be hosted in-person and virtually on April 28, 2023

Box lunches will be served to the in-person audience if registered by Noon on April 25, 2023

The panel discussion is striving to provide a platform for experienced energy professionals and industry companies to meet and create insightful conversations regarding the empowerment of the Gulf of Mexico. The panel is organized by the Members in Transition Committee (MiT) of the SPE- Gulf Coast Section in conjunction with the Energy Professionals Hiring Event taking place on May 4, 2023, during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.

The panel aims to provide information applicable to the current job markets, current employer needs, best practices to pursue an employment transition, and opportunities. Our goal is to inspire and encourage members in the current job landscape with insights, success stories, and real-life examples to apply in their transition.

The format for the panel discussion will be a fireside chat; each panel member will be given the opportunity to discuss their personal experiences regarding job transitioning, as well as their vision regarding the empowerment of the Gulf of Mexico as a major source of Energy is heading, and any actionable recommendations they may have. The panel will discuss 3 – 4 related technical topics, such as 20K deep-water activities, non-hydrocarbons/New Energies potential, and use of the existing facilities for geothermal projects, in addition to HR topic(s) that serves the purpose of the panel from the perspective of members in transition. Each session will allow for 8-10 minutes per panel member presentation/summary with 20-30 minutes allocated for Q&A.
