Dr. Yuill will present a talk entitled “World Bank Standards and Guidelines: A Primer for International Oil and Gas Projects.” The presentation will answer the following questions:

  • What are the institutions that make up the World Bank Group?
  • What other multilateral lending institutions have environmental guidelines?
  • When does my project need to comply with World Bank guidelines or standards?
  • What are the primary components of an Environmental Assessment?
What is the difference between the “Environmental Assessment Sourcebook” and the “Pollution Prevention and Abatement Handbook?”

Dr. Yuill is a Senior Environmental Consultant with the onshore pipeline design group of AMEC Paragon. He has been an environmental consultant for 28 years, working for AMEC Paragon for the last four years.  His consulting practice has included environmental impact assessment and environmental permitting for the oil and gas industry, both domestically and internationally.  Dr. Yuill has performed environmental impact assessments for oil and gas geophysical exploration, exploration and production facilities, gas processing plants, and oil and gas transportation pipelines.  His international experience has included environmental assessments for projects in

Ecuador ,

Venezuela ,

Bolivia ,

Peru ,

Mexico ,

Trinidad and Tobago ,

Barbados ,

Nigeria and

Mozambique .  He has evaluated and applied World Bank standards for many of these international projects.
