Description

Kerr-McGee has announced that China is its new core area, and is moving aggressively to demonstrate its value.  This includes producing first oil five months ahead of schedule from its Bohai Bay project, one of the most complex drilling programs the company has undertaken.
Mr. Verm will share insights about how Kerr-McGee managed the technical, operational and cultural challenges of developing the Bohai Bay project.  These challenges range from managing personnel with local and international experience to maximize operational effectiveness to using techniques like Extended Reach Drilling and floating casing to improve project economics and stay ahead of schedule.  They extend logistical difficulties of getting equipment in place on time, on top of the usual challenges of offshore projects.
Please register early online in order to facilitate the Northside study group to better plan and streamline the luncheon. Walk-ins will be accepted on a space available basis.
