 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A presentation by Kamel Ben-Naceur, 2022 SPEI President.

This presentation will focus on sustainable energy transition, de-carbonization efforts and a roadmap to Net Zero while reflecting on the potential of new and renewable energies in the future mix, exploring the boundaries of geothermal, hydrogen, offshore wind and other alternate energy sources

With renewed focus on UN Sustainable Development Goals through energy-transition, and power generation, harnessing alternate-energy has now attracted greater attention.

We, the energy industry, the pioneers of harnessing fossil fuels as an energy source, firmly believe we can demonstrate how our discoveries can accelerate an energy transition, limiting impact on climate change, whilst producing products that improve society.

As such we are aligning with a decarbonizing world, engaging and leveraging our base assets and operating expertise to reshape our strategies, while increasing participation and investments in renewables.

NOTE: The SPE Strategic Plan is currently being updated and Mr. Ben-Naceur will take some time after his keynote presentation to discuss the ongoing efforts on the SPE Strategic Plan update and listen to direct feedback from SPE Members on what should SPE be focused on in the next 3-5 years to serve SPE’s membership. (More information about the SPE Strategic Plan update can be found here Updating the SPE Business Model)
