Nathan Meehan, 2016 SPE President, will share his thoughts on where we are in the oil and gas industry, the drivers for change due to climate issues, policy and regulatory challenges, and the opportunities for petroleum professionals. Topics include CCUS, direct air capture, offshore wind, hydrogen and the role of oil and gas going forward.

Nathan Meehan has over 42 years of experience in the petroleum industry. He is the 2016 SPE President and holds a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Stanford University. He has worked for Union Pacific Resources, Occidental, and Gaffney Cline/Baker Hughes.
He is a consultant for Aramco, teaches Energy Transition and Ethics …

Nathan Meehan has over 42 years of experience in the petroleum industry. He is the 2016 SPE President and holds a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Stanford University. He has worked for Union Pacific Resources, Occidental, and Gaffney Cline/Baker Hughes.


He is a consultant for Aramco, teaches Energy Transition and Ethics courses, is a Senior Technical Advisor for petro.ai and a Director of Ignis H2 Energy. He also serves on the advisory boards of several universities and the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission.   He is the recipient of numerous SPE and industry awards.
