This discussion will focus on Talos’ strategy in diversification from an oil and gas E&P to expanding its influence in areas associated with energy transition. After a brief introduction of Talos’ E&P activities, the discussion will focus on its activities associated with carbon capture and storage (CCS). The Gulf Coast offers several enabling elements to be the world leader in CCS, but the business and policy environment doesn’t lend itself to be the obvious choice. This discussion will present those opportunities, current and future challenges, commercial and technical, while also discussing Talos’ pursued solutions. In conclusion, the discussion will showcase decarbonization possibilities that CCS can offer.
