This year the Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast Section (SPE-GCS) celebrates its 70th Anniversary.  The 2005 SPE-GCS 70th Anniversary Celebration will be held on the evening of October 13, 2005. The venue is the outstanding, recently-renovated Wiess Energy Hall – a permanent exhibit of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and a must-see for members of the energy community.  The theme is 70 Years, a Legacy of Success Through: Community, Leadership, and Education.  Please consider sponsoring and attending this event.

The evening event is an informal gathering of 300 SPE friends and colleagues, highlighted by activities that recall seventy dynamic years for the SPE-GCS and the industry. Timed to coincide with the conclusion of the SPE-ATCE in Dallas, it’s also a perfect opportunity to unwind and mingle with the locals and visitors from around the world.   Up to three hundred tickets will be made available to SPE members at no cost in September, so reserve your tickets now by making a contribution of a sponsorship.

We are soliciting sponsorships from companies or individuals who want to contribute to this special event in order to recognize the many contributions of SPE volunteers and to  support the SPE Gulf Coast Section scholarship effort. Sponsors will be recognized at the event as well as in the newsletter and website.

This sponsorship will entitle the sponsor company or individual to reserved tickets at the event.  The sponsor company or individual will also be recognized in the program for their contribution to the evening.  The SPE-GCS is a non-profit organization (Tax ID # 75-2001539).

You can pay your sponsorship on-line and confirm your allocation of reserved tickets for your level of sponsorship.  After Sept. 1, free tickets will also be made available to individual members who register until a maximum of 300 tickets have been reserved.

Live music will be provided by Infinity's Twin.

There will be "heavy" hors d'oeuvres passed at 6 pm and at 7 pm food stations will open including an Island Flavors station featuring Spicy Jerk Chicken Skewers, a French Country station featuring Chicken Simon Medallions, a Gourmet Grilled Cheese station and Dessert & Coffee station for Chocolate Lovers.  All the food and non-alcoholic drinks are free.  Cash bars will be available for alcoholic beverages.
