The SPE-GCS Communications Team is organizing an 1-hour primer on how to effectively publicize your upcoming event (virtual and hybrid) on various platforms available to study groups and committees to boost attendance. 

Please share this event with members of your team who would like to learn about SPE-GCS event publicity for their current or future volunteer roles within the section.

Speaker Alexsandra Martinez & Lindsey Newsome

Alexsandra (Alex) Martinez is a project Reservoir Engineer at DeGolyer and McNaughton. She currently works in the North America division, supporting projects related to integrated assessments of unconventional reservoirs including field development studies, due diligence, completion evaluation, well performance analysis and forecasting, and estimation of prospective and contingent resources. She holds a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.


Alex joined the SPE Gulf Coast Section Board of Directors in 2019 as the Communications Committee Vice-chair. Prior to that role, she served in SPE-GCS as the Chair of the Reservoir Study Group, and with the Texas A&M Student chapter through various leadership roles including philanthropy co-chair and vice president. In addition to her role in the SPE-GCS, Alex has been part of the technical committee of the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) since 2018, supporting the selection of conference papers, chairing technical sessions during the event and development of mobile app for conference.


Lindsey Newsome is the founder and owner of Newsome Marketing Group. A native Texan born in Dallas, Texas, Lindsey graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a B.A. in Speech Communications and a minor Business Administration. Before graduating, Lindsey started her professional career at Gurwitch Products in the e-Commerce department as a Merchandising Manager. Lindsey worked with a team to redesign the lauramercier.com website twice, the reviveskincare.com website once, and concurrently managed over 30 other retailer storefronts for the luxury Laura Mercier Cosmetics and ReVive Skincare brands. In addition to managing websites, Lindsey created and executed email marketing campaigns, aided in customer service, managed the employee incentive program, and assisted with press sample distribution.


As she made the move to Houston, Texas with Gurwitch Products in 2004, it was only natural for Lindsey to make the jump into the oil and gas industry. After 7 years, Lindsey became the Marketing Coordinator for the oilfield services company MicroSeismic, Inc. Through her time with MicroSeismic, Inc., Lindsey oversaw the build out of the new corporate website and intranet. She also managed the print and online advertising, created educational online tutorials, and executed email marketing campaigns to promote upcoming trade show appearances.  


After leaving the corporate world in 2014, Lindsey founded Newsome Marketing Group as a way to reach organizations and companies that need website and online marketing assistance with customized touches.  Lindsey thrives on providing fresh, exciting new websites that provide clear messaging that reaches the target audience. She is driven, motivated and dedicated to providing a customized online marketing plan for your business so that you can reach your business goals each year.
