SPE’s Got Talent – An International Virtual Talent Show
In lieu of quarterly networking events, the SPE-GCS Membership Committee is planning some online fun to help us get to know each other on a more personal level. We want to celebrate what makes SPE an outstanding organization to be involved in - the awesome diversity of talents and cultures of its members.
Surely you’ve heard about the TV show America’s Got Talent, right? Well, SPE members got talent, too, and we’d like to showcase our members’ talents in the following categories:
- Performing Arts (Acrobatics, Dance, Music, Gymnastics, Magic, Mime, Opera, Puppetry, Ventriloquism, Acting, Comedy, Singing)
- Visual arts (Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, filmmaking, design, crafts)
- X-Factor (Other, anything else)
- Special Requests (e.g., asking a former SPE President to play accordion, asking your CEO)
ACTION: We encourage and would like to request SPE-GCS individuals or groups (immediate family, team, company with at least one SPE member) to email a 5-second sample video of your performance in either the performing or visual arts categories to: sgt.show.2021@gmail.com by 5:00 pm CST on February 12th, 2021.
These short sample clips can either be in .mp4 (preferred) or .mov format and will be used to prepare a promotional video to be sent to SPE Sections and Student Chapters worldwide to invite them to submit a full 2-minute video to enter the global competition in mid-2021.
There will be prizes for the top five winners in each category (40 prizes in total), and the qualifying performances for the finals show will be live online. If you would like to serve as a judge or coordinator for this event, contact Anand Nagoo at anand.nagoo@gmail.com to join the SPE’s Got Talent committee. Also, feel free to request from Anand our detailed document containing show rules and format.
So brush off the dust from that instrument, sharpen that voice, get your friends/coworkers/ family together and start practicing and rehearsing.
