There are many good reasons why gas-lift should always have been the primary lift method for unconventional wells and now it is finally “taking over”. However, the “conventional” way of doing gas-lift was developed for much different reservoirs, wells, and circumstances when compared to unconventional.

A different approach (Single Point or “Unconventional” Gas-Lift) with no gas-lift valves or packers has many advantages, which are examined in this presentation.
