The SPE Members in Transition Seminar Series is designed to include a selection of topics of interest to SPE members who are transitioning in between jobs during the current industry downturn or who are looking for new career opportunities.  The agenda for the 54th seminar in the series is Why do I need Mentors and Sponsors?Pivoting for the Energy Transition – How to Market your Oil Field Background for an Energy Transition Career,  and will include a “Discussion of Resources for Members in Transition”.

Speaker #2 Bio: Elizabeth is a Turbomachinary Senior Sales Manager at Baker Hughes, where she is focused on electrifying wellsite operations and is involved in energy transition sales opportunities, including carbon capture and geothermal. Elizabeth is the current 2019 - 2021 INNOVATE Chair of SPE-GCS and co-founded and co-chairs the SPE Women in Hydraulic Fracturing Committee. She has authored over ten SPE publications. Elizabeth holds degrees in Chemical Engineering, Chinese, Economics, International Affairs, and Mathematics, earning Magna cum Laude honors in 2004 for her thesis, “Canary in the Coal Mine: The Phenomenon of Self-Censorship during the SARS Outbreak in China.” Elizabeth has over a decade of experience working previously with Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Tendeka, and ZL Chemicals. Elizabeth started her career as a fracturing field engineer working in Oman and was part of BP’s first fracturing treatment in Oman. She was transferred to Qatar, where she became the lead engineer on the Big Orange 25 performing high rate matrix acidizing treatments. Elizabeth moved into a technical sales role in UAE before returning to the US. Since returning to the US, she held positions of Fracturing and Acidizing Technical Instructor, Global Pressure Pumping Competency Manager, Global Product Line Manager, Business Development Manager, and Director of Production Enhancement. Elizabeth has commercialized a number of top performing technologies with Baker Hughes Pressure Pumping, and her first patent application was published this year. 


 


Speaker #2 Abstract: Pivoting for the Energy Transition – How to Market your Oil Field Background for an Energy Transition Career


 


Elizabeth will speak to how individuals can wear their oil field patches proudly on their sleeves (or resumes) and land a career in the non-oil field energy sector. Elizabeth will provide suggestions on how to self-brand, network, and create a narrative that will appeal to the non-field energy sector.
