The SPE Members in Transition Seminar Series is designed to include a selection of topics of interest to SPE members who are transitioning in between jobs during the current industry downturn or who are looking for new career opportunities.  The agenda for the 52nd seminar in the series is How to Protect, Manage and Invest Your Money in COVID19 Times, So You Think You Might Want to Apply to Business School?, and will include a “Discussion of Resources for Members in Transition”.

Speaker #2 Bio: Lori worked 8 years as a facility engineer for Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico before deciding to apply to business school in the fall of 2017.  She graduated from Harvard Business School this spring and has since founded her company, Diapente Capital, a searchfund.  As the managing partner, she is responsible for the identification, acquisition, and operation of the acquired company. Lori also holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida.


 


Speaker #2 Abstract: So You Think You Might Want to Apply to Business School?


There are a plethora of business schools and formats to choose from, including part-time, online, and full-time.  It can be hard to choose not only what format, but also how to navigate the application process, which is why there is a multi-million-dollar MBA admissions consulting market.  This presentation will outline considerations to think about when choosing a program and walk attendees through the application process and give an overview of helpful resources.
