The growing specialty has traditionally been fulfilled through math, statistics, and computer science professionals but the complex problems being solved in the oil and gas industry require professionals to have geologic and engineering experience. Getting started on this career path is the most difficult part and this event is designed to provide an informal setting to learn about the career path from successful professionals and also network with ambitious peers. This event will be panel discussion by industry professionals on what is needed to become a data scientist in the petroleum industry. Following the panel discussion will be networking with more than 100 other peers and professionals.
