Speaker #1 Abstract: Taking a Leap: From Employee to Entrepreneur

When you have an idea or a passion for something outside of your current job or company, the thought of pursuing it can be exciting, scary, or a combination of both. Leaving a sure thing for something that may work out, can be daunting, but taking that leap of faith can lead to some great things. Once you’ve taken that leap, the challenges you’ll face and the opportunities you will put the idea of personal and professional development in a new perspective. The brand you’ve built in your organization and among your colleagues can be the biggest influence on your success. Tanhee will share the story of her own leap and provide insight on the lessons she’s learned along the way. Whether you are looking to start your own business, building your own personal brand at work, or mentoring those who are, we all take leaps of faith.

Speaker #3 Abstract: Tableau-Focused Presentation

In order to stay at the forefront an ever evolving, data-driven industry, we must be able to absorb great amounts of metadata in an easily understood way. The capability to spot, analyze, and (most importantly) understand specific trends in a given area is a skill that will set you apart. As a very customizable visual analytic program, Tableau gives the average user the ability to make sense of vast amounts of data in a relatively short time frame. From this single program, you can create presentation quality maps, chart, plots, and forecasts for your team’s use. In this session we will explore the vast capabilities of Tableau and how it can directly impact your position and organization. This program is extremely flexible and can be utilized anywhere from the smallest private equity backed groups to the largest asset teams within a public E&P.
