Description

Gerry will present an approach for designing and building a career path based on building technical competency throughout your professional life.  The approach is relevant to early - mid and late career professionals.  Just like drillers custom-design a  wellbore trajectory, engineers and geoscientists need to custom-design a competency acquisition and learning program to enable them to achieve their professional  goals, adjusting to changing technology and industry requirements along the way. The trouble is, nobody teaches you how to do that, and you are neither planning for nor ready for the next one.  Gerry will stress to attendees to remember, they are in charge of their career development and the PetroSkills competency model is a systematic approach to mapping your career.

PetroSkills is an open training alliance of Shell, BP, OGCI, Halliburton, Saudi Aramco, Oxy, UNOCAL, Trinidad & Tobago Institute of Technology, ConocoPhillips, ChevronTexaco, and OGCI & JMCAMPBELL. Through these alliance member companies, PetroSkills provides a competency-based training program that delivers the “best of the best” in petroleum learning.  Their practical, competency based training courses and learning events span the industry from Prospect to Refinery door, and are delivered conveniently and frequently worldwide.
