Description

Polymers and Nanostructured materials are utilized in a wide range of applications for the modern Oil & Gas field. Examples include essential drilling fluid additives, proppant coatings, chemical inhibitors, resistant coatings, as well as flow assurance and PVT stress testing. Advancements in the field continue as research widens the understanding of this dynamic field and its relation to Oil & Gas.

This half-day tutorial is structured to give the attendees both an overview as well as an in depth look over the background, structures, properties, and applications of Polymers and Nanostructured materials.

Dr. Rigoberto Advincula is currently Professor of Macromolecular Science & Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida and has completed post-doctoral research at Stanford University as well as the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Prior to teaching at Case Western Reserve, …

Dr. Rigoberto Advincula is currently Professor of Macromolecular Science & Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida and has completed post-doctoral research at Stanford University as well as the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Prior to teaching at Case Western Reserve, Dr. Advincula served as Professor in the Chemistry Department at the University of Houston. He has compiled numerous publications in the field of Polymer Science for a wide range of industries including the Oil & Gas sector. His current research includes the design, synthesis, and characterization of polymers and nanostructured materials.
