Description

The Unconventional Reservoir revolution has proven to be resilient, and US oil production is once again growing rapidly, thanks to the technological advancements that have driven down the cost of supply. Some of those advancements within ConocoPhillips have come from an increased understanding of the Stimulated Rock Volume (SRV) and Drainage Rock Volume (DRV) concepts. An extensive piloting strategy that involved more than 30 pilot projects and 150+ horizontal wells in ConocoPhillips’ Eagle Ford acreage has led to this understanding. This presentation will review this strategy, along with other technological advancements such us time-lapse geochemistry, well spacing & stacking, completion design evolution, increased lateral length and, last but not least, integrated data analytics.
