Abstract: Why is finding a position so difficult? Why have applications become longer, more tedious, and seemingly less relevant to actually landing a position? Why are there so many services poising as hiring representatives for foreign operations? Are there any that are truly legitimate?
This workshop will highlight the various functions within HR and how each is relevant to landing a position, domestically or internationally. We will also educate on techniques that will make your profile stand-out. At the end of the session, participants will understand tangible actions they can take to best maneuver through the waters to get hired.

Speaker Bio: Lisa Ellingsen brings more than 20 years of experience in building HR and operational functions that support the needs of a variety of businesses. Through skilled strategic planning, Lisa has created processes to successfully restructure, retool, and refocus teams to operational excellence.
Ms. Ellingsen acquired this expertise through HR and Operational executive roles in organizations experiencing high growth, either organically or through acquisitions. She has a MSc in Organizational Psychology and Strategy from the Norwegian School of Business – BI and a BA in Psychology from the University of North Texas.
Lisa’s background includes:
- Experience as human resource executive through mergers, spin-offs, and transitions
- Experience transforming businesses through large scale organization realignment and change management
- Experience as operations executive bringing unprofitable businesses to profitability
- International experience supporting teams in unstable countries with sudden regulatory changes which severely impacted the workforce
- Experience as compensation specialist creating retention programs during transitions
