The SPE Members in Transition Seminar Series is designed to include a selection of topics of interest to SPE members who are transitioning in between jobs during the current industry downturn or who are looking for new career opportunities.  The agenda for the thirty-third seminar in the series will include “PRMS Update”TBA”, “Enhancing Your Personal and Professional Brand” and a “Discussion of Resources for SPE Members”.

Speaker #1 Bio Steve McCants has over thirty-eight years of experience working in various positions of increasing responsibility. He is currently the Head of Reservoir Engineering at CC Energy Service Inc. Prior to that he held positions in Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) as Chief Subsurface Manager for the Mid-Continent Region, Director of Reserves and worked in the Corporate Reserves Group.  Additionally, he worked for Altura Energy, a limited partnership formed in 1997 through a combination of the former Amoco Corporation and Shell properties in the Permian basin. He began his career with Amoco Production Company. Steve has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and is a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers, serving in many positions in the Gulf Coast Section including Chairman, and now serves as the Oil and Gas Reserves Committee Chairman for SPEI.


 


Speaker #1 Abstract: 2018 Petroleum Resources Management System – The 2018 PRMS update is an evolutionary progression that maintains the foundation principles contained in the 2007 PRMS.  The update addressed many of the clarification points that have been collected over the years and reflect the public comments received as well. The presentation will cover many of the clarifications and updates.

Olivia holds a bachelor’s degree in Geographical Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is currently the Sr. GIS Analyst Bedrock Energy Partners. Prior she held positions as a GIS expert in Investment Banking firm, Upstream Mineral Rights Owner company, Oil & Gas Sr. Consultant firm, Upstream Operator company, Midstream Pipeline company, Environmental Consultant firm and State Government.  Olivia’s passion is to utilize GIS and make an impact on her company's growth, development and explore new opportunities. She is married with two children.   


Speaker #2 Abstract: Olivia enjoys helping others understand GIS in the Oil and Gas industry. She wants to create and maintain and inspire her company to grow with the knowledge and power of GIS. GIS is so powerful when you can create integrations of other software products to help a sub-surface team with analysis, database management and illustrations utilizing GIS in many formats.
