Sept. 22, 2004

Description

In a professional environment where promotion, or even retention, is not guaranteed, it is important to appropriately and effectively toot our own horns. This can be accomplished through documenting what we have done and seeking out legitimate opportunities (within our employers'' firms, and to a broader public) to convey what we know and what we can do.

If you are uncomfortable with the idea of self-promotion, attend this meeting! You will get some very practical ideas that even the shyest among us can apply to advance our careers. The concepts are appropriate for full-time and contract employees, as well as for those seeking greener pastures right now.
