SPE-Gulf Coast Section
The Gulf Coast chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers will host an one-day Data Science Convention at the Norris Conference Center, Houston, TX, on Thursday April 4th. This year’s theme is “Transforming the Upstream O&G Industry with Advanced Data Science Solutions”. We are excited to have two extraordinary keynote speakers: Robert D. Kelly, Head of the Upstream Digital Organization, BP ; and Detlef Hohl, Chief Scientist Computation and Data Science, Shell.
The convention is intended for Upstream Oil & Gas professionals, academia scholars and students with interests in emerging data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. The agenda will include presentations from leading professionals to showcase their recent advancements and applications of Data Sciences. We are excited to Franzika Bell, Head of Data Sciences for Uber as a guest speaker and Preston Cody from Wood Mackenzie, a major industry analyst, on the panel session.
We will also be hosting startup and technology companies who will exhibit their state of the art and emerging products, and a Poster Competition amongst university students and young professionals. With up to 400 attendees, there will be ample networking opportunities with lunch and coffee breaks (covered in your registration fees).
