Luis Alcoser is the Upstream Ventures Technology Manager for the BP Ventures Team where he leads origination of and investment in novel upstream technologies which may have a significant strategic impact to BP, as well as facilitates their testing and deployment. Prior to joining BP, Luis spent 15 years holding various upstream technical, operational and management positions globally with Shell, Noble Energy, Chevron and Schlumberger leading development projects in conventional and unconventional plays across the continental U.S., deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Israel, Russia, Malaysia, Equatorial Guinea and Angola. Luis is also a completions, hydraulic fracturing & sand control subject matter expert. Luis has a B.S. degree in Natural Gas Engineering from Texas A&I University, an M.E. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University as well as an MBA and Master of Finance degrees from Tulane University. Luis currently holds positions on the boards of Xact, Silicon Microgravity & BISN.
Luis is the lead for Upstream Venturing activities for BP and has 20 years of E&P experience leading unconventional, conventional, and deep water project developments around the world. Luis has a B.S. degree in Natural Gas Engineering, an M.E. degree in Petroleum Engineering an MBA and a Master of Finance degree.
