Description

The SPE Members in Transition Seminar Series is designed to include a selection of topics of interest to SPE members who are transitioning in between jobs during the current industry downturn or who are looking for new career opportunities.  The agenda for the twenty-six seminar in the series will include “Effective Networking – Proactive and Reactive Approaches to Finding a Job” “The Future Belongs to the Digital Engineer,” and “Financial Careers for Oil & Gas Professionals and a “Discussion of Resources for SPE Members”.

Speaker #2 Bio: Jim teaches “Petroleum Data Analytics” in the PE department at Mines.  Jim’s firm, Reflections Data Consulting LLC, focuses on data management and analytics for E&P industry.  Jim was a Distinguished Lecturer for SPE in 2010-2011, speaking on the topic of “Putting the Focus on Data.” Jim was a Chevron Fellow focused on applications of IT to business problems and in developing industry standards in electronic data exchange.
