Description

The presentation is based on a case study of plug-and-perf horizontal well treatments in the Niobrara formation of the DJ Basin. Stress shadowing and perforation erosion were determined to have a significant impact on fluid and proppant allocation among the multiple perforation intervals that were simultaneously treated in each fracturing stage. Adjustments in perforation design were identified that improve treatment effectiveness.
