Rium Tapjan started working for NOV after graduating from the University of Texas in 2008, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. She was hired into NOV’s Next Generation (“Next Gen”) Program, where she spent one year rotating through four different roles in the company to better understand a broader aspect of NOV as a business and organization.
Upon completion of the Next Gen Program, Rium took on the role as a Support Engineer, working on special projects for the CTO office. It was in this role that she worked as part of the design team on the NOV Test Rig Project, which later became known as the R&D Technology Center. While working on this project, she later became a Project Coordinator and then was promoted to Project Manager.
In 2016, at the time when the facility construction was near completion and the project was wrapping up, the Vice President of the R&D Technology Center retired from his role, and the position was offered to her. She has been leading the R&D Technology Center since then.
