Susan Howes is VP of Engineering at Subsurface Consultants & Associates, LLC. She was formerly a reservoir management consultant at Chevron, with a prior role as learning and organizational development manager at Anadarko. She has coauthored several papers and articles on the topics of uncertainty management, risk management, and talent management for SPE conferences and publications. Howes is chair of the SPE Soft Skills Committee, previously served as SPE Regional Director for Gulf Coast North America, is a recipient of the SPE Distinguished Service Award, and is an SPE Distinguished Member. She holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas.

Roger Hite is founder and principal of Inwood Solutions, LLC, based in Houston.  Inwood Solutions provides consulting in petroleum engineering, project management, enhanced oil recovery and reservoir simulation.  Previously, he worked for Shell Oil Company in numerous roles, serving at various times as Engineering Manager, Manager Production Technology and Director …

Roger Hite is founder and principal of Inwood Solutions, LLC, based in Houston.  Inwood Solutions provides consulting in petroleum engineering, project management, enhanced oil recovery and reservoir simulation.  Previously, he worked for Shell Oil Company in numerous roles, serving at various times as Engineering Manager, Manager Production Technology and Director Production Research.   Since leaving Shell, he has worked as a consultant with a variety of companies, including Inwood Solutions, LLC.


Hite has worked closely with the Gulf Coast Section for a number of years, including as Chairman in 2006-2007.  Hite has published several SPE papers on management topics, both in Enhanced Oil Recovery and Digital Energy.  He is the current Director of the Gulf Coast North America Region on the SPE International Board.
