Description

Outline

The tutorial is an introduction to the Oilfield development process. It will provide an introduction to field lifecycle:

  • Exploration,
  • Field development,
  • Production,
  • Adandonment

The tutorial starts after the discovery is made and goes through the process of bringing hydrocarbons to market focusing on the development of the system to get the product to midstream. It explores the aspect of design, evaluation and decision required for the project at various level of the organization.

The tutorial considers the field as the system to be developed. We will explore the different subsystems and component that influence the decision made. In addition, we will take a look at some of the current practices through participant’s experience.

We will explore the current link between the discovery of resources, the development process and the economics governing field development through a basic and hypothetical field development.
