Event Description/Presentation Abstract: Better Performance through Better Communication
Remember Strother Martin’s immortal phrase after he’d angrily whipped Paul Newman and sent him sprawling down the hill in the 1967 movie classic “Cool Hand Luke”? Right: “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” On December 2nd, SPE-GCS will host its final Guest Lecture Series program of 2016 and one of the hour-long sessions will be an interactive discussion of the intricacies, subtleties and nuances of communication and how you can use them to become more productive and successful at whatever you do. You’ll pick up valuable tips on, among other things, how to respond and react to what others are saying both verbally and non-verbally and how to use your verbal and your non-verbal skills to better get your messages across. So come, learn, enjoy, and share.
