Byron Haynes, Jr., is currently the Reservoir Engineering Learning Advisor for Shell in Houston, Texas.  He is responsible for delivering and teaching all internal Reservoir Engineering Training worldwide for Shell.  He has presented the workshop, “How to Present a Technical Paper” at the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 ATCE.  Byron …

Byron Haynes, Jr., is currently the Reservoir Engineering Learning Advisor for Shell in Houston, Texas.  He is responsible for delivering and teaching all internal Reservoir Engineering Training worldwide for Shell.  He has presented the workshop, “How to Present a Technical Paper” at the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 ATCE.  Byron has presented internal Shell courses on how to write and present technical reports.  He has over 30 years industry experience in operations and development projects in the United Sates, South America, North Sea and the Middle East.  Byron has been a technical editor for the last 11 years for the SPE Reservoir Engineering and Evaluation Magazine.  He has been a member of the Professionalism and Ethics Committee and the Professional Registration Committee.  At the 2013 ATCE, he was chosen as a Distinguished Member of SPE. 


Byron is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BS and MS in Petroleum Engineering.  He is a Professional Engineer in Alaska and Texas and is an SPE Certified Petroleum Engineer.  Byron has been a member and a former Chair of the Alaska Board of Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors.  He is a member of the SPE, AAPG and the West Texas Geological Society.
