Description

The Petro-Tech Study Group of the Gulf Coast Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is hosting a Technologists Seminar and Workshop on Thursday, July 15th, 2004, at the BP Center, 501 Westlake Park Blvd., Houston, Texas 77079 located in west Houston. The Petro-Tech Study Group was established by and for petroleum technicians (technologists) for networking, enhancing knowledge and technological exchange within our industry.

The goal of this seminar is to collaboratively develop written guidelines for the development of core competencies required throughout a Petroleum Tech''s and Technologist''s career within the oil and gas industry. Technicians can then utilize these guidelines and their managers to craft development plans suited to each individual.

Please encourage your fellow engineering managers to support this worthwhile effort by promoting this important event throughout your company and encouraging technologists to attend. The Petro-Tech Study Group intends to publish the career development guidelines so your company can use them in preparing technologists for the future.

In addition to core competency guidelines, attendees will be able to share ideas and technology applications, resulting in renewed vigor and interest in their current and future job assignments. The resulting guidelines will empower each technologist to take responsibility for their own development and career plan.

Don''t miss this first time ever event.  We''re working hard to deliver a solid Core competencies that will benfit all Technicians.  See you there...
