Mr. Warren Hubler is the Vice President of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Training at Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Company (H&P). He assumed HSE responsibilites in 2000, which then expanded to include technical training and professional development in 2010.
Mr. Hubler joined H&P in 1990 as a roughneck in land drilling operations in southeast Oklahoma and then served as an an Administrative Manager in Gabon, West Africa. In 1992, Mr. Hubler assumed duties as H&P’s Safety Manager for domestic and international operations where he earned formal recognition as a Certified Safety Professional in 1995.
Mr. Hubler actively promotes safety in both the drilling and O&G industries. He helped start numerous STEPS networks and served as Co-Chairman of the Oil & Gas Council for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is aimed at reducing fatalities and improving safety performance within the O&G industry.
Mr. Hubler holds a BS in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and served 7 years in the Altantic Fleet onboard the USS Virginia and USS Yorktown.
Mr. Hubler is a SPE Distinguised Lecturer for the 2015-2016 term. Every year SPE selects a group of professionals to share their expertise with society members around the world, with lecturers covering a variety of critical topics for the energy industry.
