Please join the Young Professionals group as we volunteer at the Houston Marathon EXPO 2015 as part of the Green Crew.
When: Sunday, January 18, 2015, 10:45 AM – 4 PM
Where: George R. Brown Convention Center
Green Crew Volunteers:
During the EXPO, Green Crew volunteers roam the area, educating the public on what can be recycled and how to divert trash from landfills. Volunteers will also assist EXPO vendors with any trash needs, sorting and disposing of it in the proper receptacle. Key roles are to help educate runners, spectators, and fellow volunteers on what receptacle to place their trash in (recycle or compost). Volunteers may also assist in bagging and transporting waste as needed.
This is an indoor job and requires a fair amount of walking. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Volunteers are provided with a Green Crew shirt, vest, extra rolls of liners, and latex gloves. Volunteers are expected to:
- Be professional and courteous at all times;
- Be positive and helpful in all that you do;
- Be flexible and cooperative if your assignment changes.

Select the YP shift to check for availability of positions in our group:

In the "Volunteer group" section, select a radio button next to "I am part of a group". "-- Select group --" drop-down menu appears. Select "Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Young Professionals".

In the "Preferred shifts" section, click the "Click to expand shifts" button. Additional section floats down, it contains details of our shift on Sunday, 18 January 2015. A note to the right of "11:00 AM - 4:00 PM" will display the number of positions left.
Please be sure to check off the box near "11:00 AM - 4:00 PM".
We increased the number of volunteers to 42 positions.
