Description
Hosted by Education Foundation Harris County, the EcoBot Challenge is an opportunity for students in grades 5-8 to develop critical problem-solving skills in real-world situations that will help prepare them for 21st jobs.
Teams must integrate math, physics and computer skills from the classroom to design and build robots that perform real-world environmental tasks. The Challenge not only reinforces the skills students learn in school, it shows them how improving those skills could help them lead productive lives.
Multiple volunteers are needed for the day long event at Reliant Center:
- Event Day Volunteers – Assist with logistics in directing participant and spectator traffic inside the hall.
- Competition Judges – Serve as volunteer judges to evaluate successful completion of team robotic tasks. Pre-training is required for this volunteer position.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. To register, go to: http://www.ecobotchallenge.com/participate/volunteers/index.html. Please be sure to note SPEGCS in the "Company, Organization or School" field.
