The Society of Petroleum Engineers – Gulf Coast Section
(SPE-GCS) recently announced this dynamic event to be held February 26th, 2003
at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas. Also announced was the selection
of The Energy Forum, LLC as conference coordinator for a second consecutive
year.
Building upon the success of previous conferences this event presents end user
case studies and reviews successful evolution and adoption of digital technology
to unique E&P needs. Approximately 22 industry speakers address major oil patch
uses of digital technology. In addition a special Town Hall Session has been
added to the day moderated by Jeanne Perdue, Sr. Editor – Drilling & IT Harts
E&P Magazine.
John Darley, Director of Shell Technology E&P from The Hague, is providing our
opening keynote.
To ensure that Digital Energy 2003 addressed topics that SPE/GCS members
consider timely and relevant, The Energy Forum, LLC was authorized by the
SPE/GCS board to conduct a survey of all 11,000+ members. The survey was
extensive and produced considerable feedback from which the top ten topic areas
were selected to be addressed at Digital Energy 2003.
Interactive panels cover:
• Field Operations
• Digital Workflow
• Asset and Reservoir Management
• Collaboration and Knowledge Management

Delegate passes are priced at only $195.00 for SPE members and members of supporting associations and only $245.00 for non-members. This very reasonable pricing structure has been put in place to help ensure a significant number of delegates can attend. The Woodway Rooms have been reserved for Digital Energy 2003 to accommodate several hundred people. Networking time is abundant. A Continental Breakfast held in the exhibit hall kicks off the day. Two Networking Breaks and the evening Reception are also being held in the exhibit hall. Excellent sponsorship opportunities and exhibitor opportunities are available; all are limited and will be awarded on a first come basis. In 2001 and 2002 hundreds of E&P professionals attended this conference; early indications are that this dynamic conference will be well received. The Energy Forum, LLC, is providing creative and event management services.
