Description
A method for executing gravel pack, HRWP and frac-pack completions has been developed and used by Unocal’s Gulf Region. It is referred to as the Perf/Drop/Pack (PDP) method and it utilizes existing off-the-shelf equipment in a variety of ways to allow a gravel pack, HRWP or frac-pack to be carried out conventional sized screens and guns while eliminating the need for any pipe movement after the well has been perforated. A brief description of the PDP equipment and procedure will be presented along with case histories. A limited number of CD’s containing additional information will also be available.
