Master the Milieu:  A Broader Approach to Foreign Business Development.

Abstract:  Today’s energy businesses are finding compelling reasons to “go global” but many organizations lack the necessary skill sets to globalize effectively.  The biggest challenge to managers in the 21^st century will be how to remain effective in the course of developing and conducting business in a different culture or in a multicultural environment where values, business practices, negotiating styles, concepts of time and methods of communication and conflict resolution are dissimilar.   Rob’s talk will introduce methods to understand these cultural differences, and identify and overcome obstacles for doing business abroad.
