The Children’s Museum of Houston is looking for qualified judges and other volunteers for the 2012 Young Inventors’ Showcase. The Young Inventors’ Showcase is an opportunity for students in Pre-K to eighth grade to participate in regional invention exhibits at  a city-wide invention showcase at the Children’s Museum.
The showcase encourages the budding inventor in every child by providing a platform for children to share and celebrate their invention ideas. Throughout the year, children are invited to participate by developing a completely original invention or making improvements to an existing invention. During the city-wide 24th Annual Young Inventors' Showcase, the very best of these inventions will be showcased and judged for their ingenuity and merit. Winners are awarded by grade level and the grand prize winner receives the services of a patent attorney to research and request a patent for the invention.
Judges and Volunteers will be looking for:
•           Patentability
•           Marketability & Practical Value
•           Evidence of Invention Process
•           Product Presentation
•           Design & Construction
•           Product Prototype
Judges and other volunteers are needed to help provide a successful event at the city-wide showcase. The showcase will take place on Saturday, May 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Children's Museum of Houston.
If you are interested in Volunteering / Judging please contact me before April 20th. I'll divide the final headcount into Judges and Volunteers on a random basis.
