With the tightening of capital markets and the uncertain recovery of gas prices, companies have increasingly turned to the joint venture (JV) to facilitate liquidity and access technical know how in developing and producing the major shale plays of North America. Thomas F. Darden has served as Chairman of Quicksilver Resources Inc. since it became a public company in 1999. Mr. Darden was employed by Mercury Exploration Company from 1975 until 1999. He served as president of Mercury from 1992 to 1999. During his 24 years with Mercury, the company developed, acquired, and operated producing properties in Texas, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He graduated with a B.A. in economics from Tulane University in 1975. Mr. Darden also serves as President and CEO and a director for Quicksilver Gas Service GP LLC, and as a director for the Boards of Quicksilver Resources Canada, Inc., Mercury Exploration Company, SMU Cox School of Business/Maguire Energy Institute, and on the Board of Visitors of the Neeley School of Business at TCU.

 

Danny Rathan serves as a Vice President in the E&P acquisitions and divestitures division of Investment Banking. Danny was previously a Director in the acquisition and divestiture department of ConocoPhillips where he focused on corporate strategy and development.  Before that, Rathan was an acquisitions project manager with Burlington Resources.  Rathan holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology and Oceanography from the University of Plymouth in England and a M.Sc. in Mining from the Camborne School of Mines at the University of Exeter in England.
