Description

They may know how to sell cookies, but now you can help them learn about the exciting world of engineering!

The Girl Scout Science and Engineering Workshop held at Rice University is coming up on November 14th and we need volunteers to help with this exciting event! You will help girl scouts earn a badge teaching fun-filled science sessions including Polymer Possibilities, Materials and Structures (building bridges from newsprint rolls to bear weight), Just Plane Wings (aerodynamics), Making Connections (electrical circuits), Base-ic Facts & Hidden Rainbows (Acid/base and liquid chromatography chemistry), and Cleaning Oiled Feathers, just to name a few! First preference is given to female volunteers but males are welcome to volunteer as well. If interested in this event, please contact Kim Thames with SPE GCS YP at kimberly_thames@oxy.com by OCTOBER 30TH indicating which shift you would like to join. The SPE GCS YP is a participating sponsor of this event.
